The kits, donated by the SuperChefs Cookery For Kids program, include “Gingerbread Mansion” decorating supplies, some treats and three HelloFresh meals for four.
Dentist Greg Chang, founder of SuperChefs, helped deliver the kits Wednesday, Dec. 6, to the Christmas Bureau’s “Toy Depot,” in the former Canadian Tire store in Whalley (13665 102 Ave.), along with Surrey councillors Mike Bose and Linda Annis and football players Sukh Chungh and Manny Rugamba.
“We are delighted to be partnering with SuperChefs again for this wonderful initiative,” said Lisa Werring, executive director of Surrey Christmas Bureau.
“The Holiday Baking Kits are an absolute smashing success with our families,” she added.
“We love the decorations the children in the Surrey school district have done to make them festive. I can’t think of a better way to create special Christmas memories than parents and children baking yummy treats together, and cooking delicious meals for the family.”
Those gifted the kits are encouraged to send in a photo of their creations for a chance to attend the annual SuperChefs Cookery Camp Experience in Surrey next summer, or participate in a virtual cooking camp.
The kits were assembled with donations from Monarch Pediatric Dental Centre, Lark Group, the Lions and other partners.
